I can´t believe that January passed and we´re in the middle of February! Usually I find January long and boring. I don´t know what happend this year. Not a lot really, but it feels as if the last couple of months were shorter than usual. When we were in Roskilde last weekend, where we played "round ball" - a simplified version of base ball - with Søren and Sisse, I saw these eranthis, and I had to make a photo. They are such an early sign that spring is actually on its way. And they remind me of my wonderful grandma. I´m thinking that I´ll try to find a spot by our new house, where I can put some bulbs.A lot of our attention is currently directed towards our upcoming move - and we´re getting closer. We have been told that we can take over the house Friday, March 4. We´ll move in on Monday 7. That´s not very far from now! We can see everything progressing on a daily basis, but it is still quite difficult to imagine that we will move in 3 weeks. When we were over there to inspect last weekend, they had started laying the wooden floors, kitchen cabinets are in place, and beforehand everything had obviously been painted. We ARE really getting there!
The weather has been changing a lot, but today it is stunningly beautiful. Biting cold, blue skies and frost. That´s all you can ask for, if you ask me. (Michael did not quite agree, when he took his bike to the station). "My" tree was once again captured - I might as well take the opportunity. I will for sure have a hard time getting an office with a more spectacular view than the one I have here.
In early February, it was the carnival. It was quite nice to be up here in the apartment and watch the kids hit "the cat of the barrel" down below. (This reminds very much of the pinata, but is actually a real wooden barrel). They put all their heart and soul into it - and so did their parents, Afterwards the one who makes the barrel break, is being touted as the kig of cats and the one who gets the last stick is the cat queen. I honestly don´t really know the story behind this - but I´m sure there is something very cruel behind it.
And I turned 50! I don´t feel that it makes much difference, but it is an indisputable fact. I had a lovely day, which started with a nice breakfast with Michael. Then toppled it in with a bunch of totally unexpected visits. It was wonderful. I had a lot of greetings on Facebook, LinkedIn, email, e-cards, postcards and telephone. It was absolutely wonderful! And I also got a lot of very nice gifts. Lone and Peter were here for dinner. Right now we feel that we are in limbo, as we are mainly focused on the upcoming move, Therefore I decided to wait with some real celebration till we have moved in.
I guess that this is the last post from this address. I look forward to being able to post some pictures form our new home. We will probably not be a 100% in place right away, but knowing the two of us quite well, it will not be too long. The plan is certainly ready!
