Finally we got some snow here in Farum on Saturday. Everything just became so much prettier!
On Saturday Michael suggested that we should try orienteering in the forests around where we live. It sounds pretty official but it was just the two of us. The local orienterring club has set out posts and made maps and then there is only left to practice. It is probably a well known fact that I am neither a great runner nor very good at reading maps, so it was a very interesting project. On the other hand it was a great way to enjoy nature and do some exercise. We did not take the snow into consideration when planning the event, but it was not a bit deal. However since it was hard to see where we made our steps, we both ended out with very wet feet. According to the map, the route was 3.3 miles. But this was the crow flies distance (is that what you call it in English?) When we came home, it ended up being a 5,8 miles run. I was tired but pleased with myself, even if I was shocked that my running skills were that bad. There is definitely room for improvement! I did like the concept - a fun way to run and a great way to experience the forest.
Sunday morning we went for a walk on the Scandinavian - the golf course that is next to area where we live. It was a wonderful hike and it was goof for our sore muscles. On the way we met this wonderful snowman. I had to give him a huge hug.
We passed a bridge and in the water we saw these strange holes in the ice. We don´t know this phenomena but it was very pretty. And there were plenty. dem.
Sunday evening I was inspired by TV, where I saw somebody baking English scones. I had to give it a try. I made two portions - one with orange cest and one with chocolate. We had a taste and Michael took the rest to the office where the boys indulged. The scones were tasty - something we probably have to do again.
The previous weekend we went to Frederikssund to play golf. We didn´t play at the golf course, but in the mall, where the golf club has a couple of simulators. We met with Ole and played Bountiful Ridge - our home course in Utah. It was an amazing experience and we really felt that we knew the course. Most of the holes were true to the real thing - and we played it as if. We loved it. Ole complained that we had unfair advantages. I don´t know what it was, I just know the fact that I won!
