Now it´s reality: We will become house owners

Marianne:

The last couple of months have been very interesting. We have been in negotiations about our future home and now finally everything fell into place and we have signed the contract. According to plan, we will be able to move in on December 1st this year. It is a so called town house (I think) in the same part of Farum where we currently live. We have become very pleased with this area - for multiple reasons: We are close to nature; here are lots of forests, we are not far from fields and a rural setting. At the same time we are close to the center of Farum and to the center of Copenhagen, which can be reach in 30 min.
The house is a two storage town house with roof terrace. It is all SO exciting! The pictures are not 100% precise, but they will give you an idea about what it looks like.

Today, Sunday, we went over there and witnessed that they layed the foundation of the project. One of Michael´s former colleagues is the chairman of the homeowner´s association in the area, and he was the one who actually dog the first hole. (This is something that is a(nother) reason to celebrate here in Denmark). We talked to some people who is also going to build in the same area. Apparently the first houses will already be ready in September.

Sisse turned 10 years old on March 13th. She was celebrated the day after. We met with Caroline, Michael and Søren (Sisse´s parents and brother), Sisses grandparents and her aunt, uncle and two cousins to hike together. The goal was to reach the ”Birthday Island”, which is not its real name, but since this has become a venue for birthdays, the family renamed it.  It was very wet and aunt Marie Louise almost lost her short wells in the mud. Everybody dod however make it home, where we were served hot cocoa and rolls. Later we were served a wonderful home cooked meal: Grilled steaks, oven-baked french fries and sauce béarnaise.

On March 26th I was going to a meeting in Copenhagen. On my way there, I went through Nyhavn (New Haven), which in itself is a pretty spectacular place. But this day was special, since they were shooting scenes for a Hollywood movie: The Danish Girl starring Eddie Redmayne. He plays the character Ainer Wegener/Lili Elbe who was one of the first known people in the world to have sexual reassignment surgery. The movie is supposed to premier in late November this year.
It was fantastic to see how little staging was needed to make it look as if we were in the 1920´s. After the meeting, I and two colleagues went back the same way, and all of a sudden they shot a scene. We talked to some of the extras and got a little inside information.

Over Easter, I went to our summer house with my friend Helene. Michael was in Phoenix, AZ. We had some wonderful days with hikes, enjoying the beautiful weather had an Easter lunch at a very nice restaurant in Blokhus - and town on the coast not too far from our house. We also ate lumpfish roe (a typical spring dish) and we also had time to just relax, which was needed for both of us. Helene went home on Saturday and Michael came to the summerhouse on Sunday.

Michael and I stayed till Wednesday, and on the way back home, I had a customer meeting in Århus. We took the opportunity to enjoy a nice cup of coffee at café Casablanca, which is a very traditional café and we also strolled a bit in the city center. On our way we saw this sign, which I could´t resist. First of all it´s fun that it is in English and next, the text is fun. Probably some of us thinks it´s more fun than others… (It is the line under Mackie´s Pizza that I am talking about).

Yesterday, Sunday afternoon, I went to Sisse´s dance recital. It was a fun experience. She was very good. Sisse and her friend Clara, danced 3 programs. Sisse also received a pokal as a token for her dilligence. She has been dancing for 5 years. She got a nice bouquet of flowers from Grandma (my mom) on her special day. Sisse was very happy and proud when we arrived here in Farum where she and Søren was going to stay the night. Søren was also extremely proud since Uncle Michael Bo gave him his first golf lesson.
