Easter - and a bit more...

Marianne:
Michael went to US by the end of March. The reason was a golf tournament with the ASSGO-boys. They meet once a year to play an awful lot of golf. The last couple of year the venue has been Las Vegas, which was also the case this year. Michael took the opportunity to visit Joyce and Bob who live in Henderson close to Vegas. He stayed a couple of nights in their wonderful guesthouse. I´m sure Michael had a great trip, because it was hard to wipe the smile of his face when he came home. And I easily live with the fact that "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"...

MB really enjoyed visiting with Joyce and Bob - and he also met with Hope and Rico from Bountiful, who had attended a golf course in Laughlin, CA and passed by on their way back home. Super nice to see them! It was a fabulous reunion with the ASSGO golf boys who came from all over the United States. This event has very high priority! Obviously, I wouldjoin Michael, but because of the new job, I decided not to ask for vacation right away. And I felt that was a wice decision. I guess that I´ll go next year. Bob made sure that Michael was transported in a nice way, since he lent Michael his vintage Corvette from 1993. Michael was very pleased!

I am increasingly happy to sing in the gospel choir I joined last summer. It has now come so far that I have participated in a so-called Master Class, where we were five who participated - and were taught by our choirmaster Manuela. It was pretty intense - and gave me the courage to give myself a bit more. Hopefully I´ll learn to control my voice better so it sounds nicer. Afterwards I´ve even tried to sing the lead at a practice session. A huge challenge to me!

And then came Easter. We both took the three days off before the official Easter break, so we had 10 days vacation, which was very nice - and needed! The weekend of Palm Sunday was spent at the opening tournament in our golf club. Michael played on Saturday and I played on Sunday. MB did really well and for me it went historically bad. I have NEVER played such a bad round! But it was good company, so never mind. I decided that I had to get back up on the horse the day after, when Peter and Michael went to play. I joined them - and it went really well. I played up to my handicap, so I was happy!

We have planted a new tree in our small garden. It is a cherry laurel which is now standing outside our kitchen window. It serves two purposes: It looks really nice and it gives us a bit more privacy. It will be interesting to see if it still is still standing when we get home, because it got a pretty stormful start to life at Adjudantvænget.

On Tuesday we drove north to the summerhouse. As always it was great to be there. We had some really nice days! Michael mowed the lawn for the first time in the season - so now we´re up and running! Fortunately, the spring has not been particularly wet this year - so we enjoy that there are no puddles on the lot.
I may be a little crazy, but it makes me so happy when I see that our Christmas rose is flourishing again this year. It´s placed in a small corner of the lot, which will progressively become more and more covered with what we call spring announcers: Crocus, snowdrops, winter aconites etc. I´ve put in some more bulbs this year - hopefully they´ll come up next year.
I took the narcissus from our Easter decoration and put them out there. You are supposed to plant the bulbs in the fall, but since it´s still not too warm, I tried my luck.
On Wednesday we played a round of golf in Hjørring - North / South course. It was a fine and challenging course. Again I could not get anything to work. It's probably good that I'm having some lessons with the pro in our club - another Michael in my life :-) It was cold, but the sun was shining and as always it was just great to be out. After we had gotten a little lunch, we drove to Hjørring to shop for the rest of Easter.

I enjoyed myself cooking on Thursday, while Michael played golf with the Men´s League at Løkken Golf Club. He also had to work a bit. (In US Maundy Thursday is not a day off as in Denmark)!

On Good Friday we had Easter lunch with good friends. We were eight in total. Michael and I enjoyed it very much. As always a lot f stories were exchanged. Not all versions are absolutely true to what really happend, but they for sure are good stories!

When our guests left, the weather was so nice that we decided to take a long walk on the beach. We discovered that "our" staircase was gone! The wind must have carried it away - along with much of the dune where it normally rests.
My mom and dad joined us on Saturday and we had a nice day. The weather had changed, and it was pretty rainy. We decided, however, to go for a walk - and it was a wonderful trip. Later we played Sjoelbak - which is always fun. (Oops! There is my finger on the picture!)

Now we are more or less ready to get back home again.Tomorrow is another day off, where we can make ourselves ready to everyday life.
